Second Saturday @ Bright Coffee
Join us August 12th for coffee and art 6-9pm
I’m an illustrator not a painter. I tried painting for awhile and realized I’m just not that good at it. Yea I could’ve stuck with it and gotten good, but I was already good at drawing, So I went back to that.
My drawings help me deal with my emotions. They also help me connect with others. I used to have this fake positive persona in my art. I would only paint happy things, but no one connected to it. People seem to connect to the real and raw things. So, I put my real and raw fears and emotions on paper for everyone to see.
I enjoy doing large bodies of work because it allows me to explore an idea till its dead. There is no I could’ve done this, or I should’ve done that. No, the idea feels completely explored and afterwards I’m ready to move on to the next thing.
