I painted Pregnant and Nursing when I was pregnant with my second child and nursing my first. The original painting was sold many years ago and this is a digital reproduction with some changes to the colors. This painting will always have a special place in my heart because it represents the journey that Brian and I began together of bringing our children into the world.
Having a baby without drugs requires mental strength and fortitude. I remember being laser focused on getting these babies out of my body and into the world. There is no other mental state quite like it, and I’m glad I had the bravery to endure the experience. It was primal and instinctual. Without a doubt, a highkey psyche moment in time.
