When I first had her in my arms, I knew she was a brave girl, coming to this world and to this crazy marriage that was already crumbling. She was brave since the beginning, tried to fit in in a new country, new language and new family at her short 6 years old. At 18, she decides to move to Germany to find her way… little did we knew that the shadow of depression was going to cough her of guard. This is a painting of Valentina living with calm in her soul at this present moment. It took let all the strength she had left in her heart to work for her mental peace, it took her conquering all of her fears, detaching and surrendering to finally find her philosopher stone within her heart.
